"While one would normally not watch this kind of disrespect, it is import to do so in this case in order to understand the degree of irrationality the gun control moment has. Morgan is a classic Saul Alinsky. During this interview he applied five classic Alinsky rules."
>> RULE 3: “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Morgan keep asking Lott for “the number of murders,” while Lott looks at murder rates (yes, a bit technical, but there is a difference). He was trying to make Lott look stupid.
>> RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” At the end of the show, Morgan ridiculed Lott for not caring about the grieving Connecticut parents. Yes, I am sure Lott hates parent of dead kids.
>> RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Morgan was constantly talking over Lott, asking him to answer questions that he had answered. This give the appearance to the low information viewer that Lott is hiding something.
>> RULE 11: “The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Morgan keep asking Lott about how many of Obama’s executive orders he supported, trying to show he was not willing to be part of a solution.
>> RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Lott was in the verbal crosshairs of Morgan. Every time Lott tried to make a point, Morgan would interrupt (freeze), talk about Lott’s agenda (personalize), and then not he was not answering the question (polarize).
Watch the video between Piers Morgan and John Lott CNN, July 24, 2012
A classic confrontation between two completely opposing views on the gun control debate. John Lott is author of "More guns, less crime". Alan Dershowitz is a lawyer. Piers Morgan is CNN presenter.
